Position Overview:
The Associate Designer will report to the Senior Designer. An ideal candidate will be hardworking, organized, highly communicative and exceptionally creative. As a member of high performing and fun Design and Merchandising department you will be involved with our swim, active, and apparel categories (knits & wovens). You will be supporting our Design team to drive our vision across all aspects of the design process from concept to proto approval as well as the organization of that process.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Research and present overall trends relevant for the Frankies Bikinis brand/customer based on conceptual direction and ideas from the entire creative team; translate these ideas into mood boards.
• Develop detailed sketches that align with the brands direction and overall aesthetic.
• Collate new seasonal material briefs including fabrics, trim, print and color.
• Work with the Development team to create sourcing briefs for fabrics and trims.
• Responsible for following through on artwork comments and approvals in partnership with Development team.
• Build strong, dynamic, and synergistic relationships with cross-functional partners; Technical Design, Product Development, Marketing, Merchandising and Production.
• Adhere to design calendar deadlines and timelines; ensuring all designs are completed accurately and on time.
• Attend fit review sessions, note feedback, and update flat sketches as necessary.
• Maintain and organize all sample racks and label samples accordingly.
• Support the Design team as needed on the day to say aspects of the Frankies design process.
Education/Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in similar role in the women’s contemporary / fashion space. Swim experience a plus.
• Formal degree in Fashion/Design.
• Highly proficient of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a must.
• Creative and innovative with strong illustration skills.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, fit and construction across swim and apparel categories.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven track record in identifying trends and developing product that deliver results.
• Ability to strike a balance between creativity and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, positive, adaptable, and dependable attitude.
• A team player, you contribute positively to team dynamic, cultivate passion and productivity. You are solutions driven, are an efficiency advocate and a strategic thinker.
Salary Range:
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 per year. Actual salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, candidate’s related work experience. This position is also eligible for benefits.
