Location: Currently I am sailing the Croatian Islands in the Adriatic Sea and I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.
What are your nationalities?
Australian and Romanian.
What is your favorite Frankies Bikini?
Currently I am obsessed with the Willa top and bottom, Stella top and bottom, and the Malibu top and bottom – and the whole crochet collection – and basically anything else that is Frankies Bikinis… AND am hanging out for the new velvet collection to drop!
It’s amazing how you have so many accomplishments and are enrolled in law school! What made you decide to study law? How do you manage traveling, your social account and law school?
I actually left school and went to study medicine, 6 months in I decided that I wanted to switch to a double degree in Law/Commerce (much to my fathers dismay – he is a surgeon). My passion for law has grown over time and I am grateful for the skills and knowledge such a diverse course has given me. It has been a serious challenge juggling my travels, social account, law school and also working as a nanny for two children that I adore when I am back home in Sydney (I have looked after them for 5 years!)
Last year (2016) I had a feeling that this year (2017) would be a big one in terms of travel and so I managed to cram in 18 subjects by doing winter and summer semesters as well as normal semester time and I am so glad I did! I am also very lucky to have such a supportive network of family and friends to be there for me in times of need!
What made you interested in law? Where do you see your future career in law taking you?
It wasn’t until I attended Harvard that I knew what area of law I wanted to practice in – that being International Criminal law. My dream job in the future would be to work at the International Criminal Court based in the Hague.
The word travel is in your IG handle. So, what has been your favorite travel destination thus far?
It would be really hard to pick a favorite! Culturally I loved visiting Japan and hope to spend some more time there in the future. I do have a thing for beach destinations – I am a sun baby – my favorites would be The Bahamas, Tonga and Kauai – all of them have an incredible amount of unique wildlife.
How do you stay fit while globetrotting?
I am a massive foodie so this can sometimes be a challenge as I am always wanting to enjoy local foods and eat at amazing restaurants! I make sure that I work out every day and I try to keep things interesting by trying different fitness classes all over the world – most recently I tried out - KO Box in London, heartcore pilates in London, Barrys Bootcamp in Miami. If there are days where I cant schedule in a class I always make sure I go for a run or do some form of cardio and I also travel with resistance bands so that I can get a workout in no matter what! Its always fun to go for a run or a walk when I arrive in a new place to get my bearings.
What are your travel essentials?
My beats wireless headphones – My brother bought them for me and when I am traveling solo (which is a lot of the time) and I never take them off. I always make sure that I have some RX Bars handy – they are my go to healthy snack.
You seem pretty fearless; swimming with sharks, feeding iguanas, and diving beside whales. When did you start diving and what adventures do you have planned in the future? What was the most amazing adventure you have had yet? What do you love about nature?
I started diving when I was 12 years old when my father took me on a dive in Vanuatu – this really sparked my passion for diving – it wasn’t until 5 years ago that I first starting free diving and then I really challenged my abilities when I was in Tonga last year with the Humpback whales. Free diving with the Humpbacks in Tonga would be one of the most incredible experiences of my life so far – there are no words to describe the feeling you get when you are 30 metres below the surface and you are looking straight into the eye of a fully grown humpback! I also have a huge passion and fasciation with sharks – I have swum with most species over my travels in Bora Bora, Maldives, Bahamas, Tonga and Hawaii but still have the Hammerhead and Great White on my bucket list – I am working on trying to swim with the Great Whites without a cage later this year! I also have been hanging out to swim with the Whale Sharks so hopefully will get to do that in the near future. I love the perspective that nature gives us as humans and feel that animals connect us back to who we are and why we are here. I am never frightened or scared because I do believe that the animals can feel your energy and if you are happy and calm they will do the same!
You are such a natural beauty! What is your secret to gorgeous hair and skin?
Thank you! I would say the best secret is to keep it natural – I usually let my hair always dry naturally to make sure I don’t dry it out and damage it with hair dryers etc. Travel can have a negative impact on my skin – especially when changing climate and humidity all the time but I always try to keep my make up minimal. Vitamin d and salt water always seems to make things better!
What is your favorite part of traveling?
Meeting new people, exploring new landscapes, encountering local wildlife and enjoying the local food!
Where haven’t you been that you still want to see?
One place that is top on my bucket list at the moment is the Galapagos Islands – traveling there would be a dream come true because of the large diversity of species that live on the islands. Coming in close to that would be Great White shark diving without a cage (working on doing that this year), an african safari and also swimming with the whale sharks.
What other hobbies do you have?
I love to paint oil on canvas, cook (I love coming up with dairy, gluten and refined sugar free recipes), surf, free dive and do Pilates in my spare time!
Favorite sports team?
Golden State Warriors – I am a massive NBA fan and have been ever since I went to my first game 8 years ago.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I am allergic to garlic.
What exciting things are you planning this year?
I am working on a few projects at the moment that I will keep secret for now! But in the near future I am very excited to be walking in Miami swim week this year!
